Fish Sauce Factory
Phu Quoc Fish Sauce is a specific variety of fish sauce produced on Phu Quoc Island. Since 2001, the Industrial Property Department of the government of Vietnam has the name "Phu Quoc Fish Sauce" as a trademark, and only registered manufacturers are allowed to use the name in Vietnam.
Ca Com (rice fish)
The waters around Phu Quoc Island are rich in seaweed and plankton, which provide food for the anchovy population. This resource has been used in the production of Phu Quoc Fish Sauce for over 200 years. Phu Quoc Fish Sauce is differentiated by its color, which is due entirely to the ingredients and is not the result of any coloring agents.
Pepper Trees
Vietnam is the leading global exporter of Black peppercorns with the best quality black pepper in Vietnam coming from Phu Quoc with big solid corns. Phu Quoc currently produces hundreds of tons of pepper every year, with the main harvesting season from February through to July. However, you can visit the farms all year round.
Green Pepper
You’ll find pepper plantations mostly around the central and northern parts of the island. Moreover, most farmers won’t mind you stopping to take photos or viewing the amazing pepper trees or the drying pepper. You can also visit the Khu Tuong pepper gardens for a close look at the pepper gardens and cover the overall harvesting and drying process.
Bien Mai Shellfish
This is a kind of sea shellfish which has a triangle shape. It is as large as an adult’s dorsal hand and lives deep into the water. The visitors who love discovering can dive into the sea and find some Bien Mai shellfish with the assistance of a snorkel and a mark. The tourists have a chance to wallow in the blue sea and enjoy the recreational activities of the fishermen living here.
Grilled Shellfish
The meat of this shellfish is so tender that the villagers recommend eating only the core part of it, which is believed to be the most delicious one in this shell. It can be cooked into several dishes. It is advisable that taking some beer while eating will make the food more delicious. But this recommendation should only be taken by the ones who can drink alcoholic drinks.
