Itinerary
Day 1:
Ho Chi Minh City – Cai Be – Vinh Long – Can Tho
In the morning

We depart from Ho Chi Minh City to Cai Be for 114 km. This trip provides an overview of Vietnam. On the way, you will have a chance to save the memories with some photos at Tan An – a town surrounded by rice fields.

Upon arrival in Cai Be, we will take a motorized boat to visit Cai Be Floating Market. Here you can see the local people buying and selling on their boat, and see the busy moment of product exchanges. Farmers from the region bring their goods, fruits and vegetables mainly, to the markets and sell them to local dealers. These dealers sell the products to shops in the neighboring towns and to wholesale dealers from the big towns. In the picture you can see a local farmer with fruits for sale. All big boats have a pole. Each wholesaler hangs the goods he buys/sells on this pole. This way, people on small boats know where they have to go from a certain distance. On the floating markets you do not only find people buying and selling goods, you also find floating restaurants, floating bars, floating gas stations, and many other floating shops. Canals are here the easiest and fastest way of transportation.

In the afternoon and evening

We take a boat ride through the maze of shady small canals to An Binh Island (Vinh Long) to visit the orchard garden and enjoy tropical fruits. Besides, you will see how people cultivate their rice paper.

Next, we have a nice chance for bicycle riding, roaming through the village and looking at the local handicraft shops. A stop will be landed on Vinh Long so we have time to visit Vinh Long Market.

On your wonderful boat trip, you will enjoy sunset time on the way to Can Tho City and spend a night there.

Day 1:

Can Tho – Cai Rang – Ho Chi Minh City
In the morning
After breakfast, we take a boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong River .
The boat trip will take you to the Cai Rang Floating Market, which is the most original ones and bustling places of the region. It is one of several floating markets in the Mekong Delta. This market is where locals go to buy and sell a variety of fruits and vegetables from boats of all sizes. During the early morning market hours, larger sized boats anchor and create lanes that smaller boats weave in and out of. The waterway becomes a maze of hundreds of boats packed with mango, bananas, papaya, pineapple, and even smuggled goods like cigarettes. Sellers tie their goods to a tall pole so that buyers can see from a distance what they are selling. Other boats sell beer, wine and soft drinks to the merchants and the buyers. Have you tried the Vietnamese vermicelli noodle? So, you will go and see how it is made.

In the afternoon and evening

You will trek along a village to talk with the local people. Here you have an opportunity to experience how to pass a "Monkey bridge" which is built by only one bamboo.

Leaving the village, you will go to visit Can Tho Market and then have lunch there.

At 6:00 PM, our bus driver will transfer you back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Have a good trip!
